Two weeks left in Florida’s 2020 Legislative Session! During week 7 we added a new good bill to our bill priority list we were not previously tracking, requiring a moment of silence before the start of each day at all public schools.

Several of the FFPC priorities, both new and old, are moving towards the finish line, including the Defending Biological Sex in Healthcare Act, the Retention of Sexual Offense Evidence Act, Educator Preparation Programs Act, and the Gaming Control Act—all of which passed at least one of the two legislative chambers.

The end of the session is in sight with only two weeks left to go. Apart from a few scheduling meetings, committee meetings are done, and the remainder of the session will be centered on the floors of the House and Senate chambers. This week saw some of the most heated and volatile committee hearings, two of which involved priority bills of ours.
