Spaghetti Sauce, Family Traditions, Christmas, and the Amazing Grace of God…
What is truly sad on this Christmas is that an increasing percentage of our children, families and communities in Florida and across the country will have no life experiences with a family to relate any tradition, values or future generations to. Inner cities devastated by unwed moms with absent fathers; children whose lives were unexpectedly shattered through the tragedy of a divorce; the elderly who will in greater numbers pass on prematurely in loneliness with no one to care for them; and children who have never been to a wedding much less seen how a “marriage” operates in their little worlds, will have no vision of marriage or family to even consider for the future.
But this is why we fight. This is why we labor. This is why the Board and the staff of the Florida Family Policy Council will not rest until we have used every resource entrusted to us to see life protected, marriage defended and the family strengthened. Families are an amazing gift of common grace from God. This Christmas season, we who have any semblance of a family at all in this broken world, should be humbled and grateful for this great gift from our heavenly Father.
Is it hopeless? Here is how we reclaim hope…
Here is how we reclaim hope: We look at the whole picture, not at just what we feel… and we look at the facts of history.
Time for Gov. Scott to stop money for Planned Parenthood
States considering termination of Medicaid Provider Agreements with Planned Parenthood are well within their legal rights. They are not required to qualify providers that are under investigation, that violate federal or state law or that act unethically. Indeed, according to the HHS Office of Inspector General, more than 9,000 providers have been excluded as Medicaid providers over the last two decades.

Taxpayer Rally to Defund Planned Parenthood Postponed to Spring 2016
“This violent and horrifying act by someone who has a troubling and violent past, is in complete opposition to the pro-life cause,” said John Stemberger, President of the Florida Family Policy Council. “We believe that we must continue promoting the pro-life message and reiterate the concern we have for every human life including the victims of this tragedy.
Pro-Life Taxpayers Plan Rally at Florida State Capitol to Demand Action
Today, the Florida Family Policy Council (FFPC) announced that a movement of pro-life Floridians, represented and led by FFPC President John Stemberger and co-sponsored by the Students for Life’s Defund Planned Parenthood Bus Tour will hold a major rally at the Florida State Capitol.
Several Threats Give Opportunities to Get Involved and make a Difference in December
Three Florida cities are being confronted with proposed changes in local and county ordinances to include “non-discrimination” language (Sexual Orientation Gender Identity [SOGI] language) which create legal weapons to punish Christians who are simply living out their faith in their businesses and use of private property. Many of these SOGI laws also involve a gross invasion of privacy and create safety and security issues by allowing fully biological men to use women’s bathrooms. Don’t be fooled by smooth sounding names like “Human Rights Ordinances,” “Equal Rights Ordinances” and the latest deceptive name, the “Competitive Workforce Act.” Adding totally subjective terms like sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression to legitimate non-discrimination statutes directly undermines our First Amendment rights of religious liberty, free speech and freedom of association.
Colorado Becomes the Latest State to Consider Defunding Planned Parenthood
As Colorado becomes the latest state to consider ending taxpayer funding for Planned Parenthood, the Florida Family Policy Council (FFPC), led by President and General Counsel John Stemberger, is urging Governor Rick Scott to follow the lead of Pro-Life Governors across the country by blocking state and federal taxpayer funds from going to Planned Parenthood in the State of Florida.
Pro-Life Floridians Outraged as Taxpayer Funding Flows to Planned Parenthood
The pro-life community in the State of Florida is growing increasingly frustrated with Governor Rick Scott’s excuses for refusing to stop state taxpayer money from flowing to Planned Parenthood and are demanding he do so immediately.
Reality Check on Governor Rick Scott’s 4 Reasons For Not Defunding Planned Parenthood
The job of any Governor is to enforce the law, and we appreciate Governor Scott for doing that. Yet any Governor, regardless of whether they are pro-life or pro-abortion, should enforce the law and hold people accountable for violating it.

RECAP: Week #4 – This week in Tallahassee…
Week 4 of the Florida Legislature is complete, with many significant victories along the way. However, Weeks 4 (and 5) are significant for another reason as well. Many of the subcommittees finish their workload during this time, which for practical reasons, means that if a bill hasn’t been heard at least in one committee by this time, it is most likely dead for this session. Although this does mean that sadly, time has run out for some of our priorities for this session, on the flip side, other dangerous and harmful bills we were opposing that have not had hearings up to now are also dead. Additionally, the winnowing of the field of legislation allows our team at FFPC to narrow in on the remaining priorities, to ensure they cross the finish line this session.
