Good Friday is a day that looked like defeat to many, but was only the beginning of the greatest love story ever told.
Jesus Christ, the perfect, unblemished Lamb, came to earth, lived without sin, and willingly carried the cross meant for us. He endured suffering, shame, and death because He loves us.
But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8
Good Friday is good — not because of anything we have done, but because of what was coming.
Three days later, everything changed.
The stone was rolled away.
The tomb was empty.
The living Son of God triumphed over death.
“In His great mercy He has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.” 1 Peter 1:3
This is not just a story.
This is our hope. Resurrection.
Because of Jesus, we are redeemed, loved, and invited into new life.
As we remember the cross and celebrate the Resurrection this weekend, we pray that many who don’t yet know this life-changing truth will come to know the love of their Heavenly Father.
“He is not here; He has risen, just as He said.” Matthew 28:6
As the Church celebrates this truth, may we carry it into a world that desperately needs hope.
