Florida Family Voice 2025 Year in Review
Did You Know?

Did you know? In the 1960s and early 1970s, as Florida’s population surged in Central and South Florida, serious discussion emerged about relocating the state capital with Orlando often proposed as a more geographically central alternative. A relocation study commission was established, and for a time, Tallahassee’s future as the seat of government was genuinely uncertain.

Rather than lose the capital, Tallahassee’s business and civic leaders mobilized to keep it. The result was a compromise: modernize instead of move.

In 1977, the 22-story Capitol tower opened behind the Historic Capitol. The original building, once slated for demolition, was ultimately preserved and restored leaving Florida with both its historic Capitol and modern tower standing side-by-side.

Florida is often seen as a national leader in protecting Life, Marriage, Family, and Religious Liberty. But leadership is not sustained by reputation alone. It requires steady presence and consistent engagement.

Each session brings opportunities to strengthen these protections, along with efforts to weaken them. As we enter a more decisive phase, the work is less about broad vision and more about careful execution. Language matters. Timing matters. And the relationships built over time often determine whether key bills move forward or quietly stall.

This week, our team remained fully engaged on those fronts, advancing legislative priorities, welcoming pastors from East Central Florida, and investing in the next generation at the Capitol. Week 6 was marked by focused determination to ensure Florida continues strengthening a culture that defends life, family, and religious liberty.
