LEGAL AND CHURCH VOTER RESOURCES

Churches and pastors often assume that legally they must remain neutral or silent in elections and on public policy issues. This simply isn’t true. There are many ways pastors and churches can make a difference, including holding voter registration drives, distributing voter guides, hosting election forums, and even advocating on specific public policy issues! VOTER GUIDES
Our issue-based, Presidential, US Senate, and Judicial voter guide tools for churches are now available online for download to print for distribution in churches or to email to friends and family.

September 28 – November 6 (Statewide) – 40 Days for Life Prayer Events 

(Hosted by 40 Days for Life) 
This year, a record number of US cities will be participating in 40 Days for Life‘s 40 days of prayer and fasting, community outreach, and peaceful vigils outside of abortion facilities.

The pastors conference will be held from 7:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. and the community forum from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Both events are free, but RSVPs are required. Click here to register for the pastors conference. Click here to register for the community forum.  

October 4-11 (Statewide): Absentee (Vote-by-Mail) ballots mailed to voters

Absentee ballots are convenient for those who are unable (due to health reasons, schedule conflicts, travel, other) to vote in person on Election Day. These absentee ballots can be requested up to 6 days before the election and must be returned by mail (or in person) to the Supervisor of Elections no later than 7 p.m. on Election Day. If you’re voting absentee, don’t forget to sign your name before mailing your ballot!

October 6-7 (Jacksonville): America at a Crossroads Pastors and Pews Event; and the Men and Women of Issachar Training 
(Hosted by The Florida Renewal Project)

The Florida Renewal Project is hosting a pastors conference in Jacksonville on Thursday, October 6 through Friday, October 7 entitled “America at a Crossroads Pastors and Pews Event.” The pastors conference will feature many renowned speakers–including former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich, David Brody, E.W. Jackson, Jason Taylor, David Barton, Fred Lowery, Ken Graves, Bill Federer, Bob McEwen and others. The event is open to pastors and youth pastors, and meals and lodging will be provided. October 9, 16 (Statewide): Ideal Sundays for Pastors to cast vision through election sermons
Absentee ballots are being mailed between October 4-11 and many people will fill our their ballot and return it quickly. We suggest that pastors ideally cast a vision for their congregation regarding the election either Sunday, October 9 or Sunday, October 16.

October 11 (Statewide): Voter Registration Deadline for 2016 General Election
Tuesday, October 11 is the final day to register to vote or change party affiliation.

October 13 (Tampa): 2016’s Pastors Appreciation Day 
9 a.m.-2:30 p.m. (Hosted by Faith Talk 570 and 910 WTBN)

Faith Talk 570/910 WTBN will be hosting a 2016 Pastors Appreciation Day brunch from 9 a.m.-2:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 13 at the A La Cart Event Pavilion in Tampa (4050 Dana Shores Blvd). The guest speaker will be Bob Lepine, Senior Vice President and Chief Creative Officer of FamilyLife and co-host of FamilyLife Today. Worship will be led by Shalyah Fearing, from Season 10 of “The Voice.” Various seminars will be provided. Admission is free for Pastors, but you must RSVP in advance to secure your seat!
