I think it is also important to point out that in those states that allow "gay marriage" few homosexuals actually do marry. The purpose of overturning traditional marriage is NOT to allow "loving gay couples" to marry but rather to undo traditional marriage utterly and completely. Homosexual activists know this and have declared that this is their aim, but most Americans are ignorant to this truth. They trust the supposedly "well-meaning" statements of those advocating for homosexual marriage. That trust is grossly misplaced. The goal is the complete destruction of the Judeo-Christian tradition in our society, plain and simple.

Where is the backbone of this social scientist when it comes to standing strong for moral absolutes? Compromise seems to be the acceptable way to appease the gay community who pushes their deviant life-style in the faces of those who believe that God, who created male & female to become one flesh & to propagate new life, has not changed His mind about the family unit. Marriage between one man & one woman (Adam & Eve) is a sacred covenant before God & man & is the stability of the family before the children. There are so many negative social &
spiritual issues that result when the traditional family unit is disregarded & despised by a segment of the population.

Why is it so difficult to take him at his word. He has been consistent since the Prop 8 trial.

"Whatever one’s definition of marriage, legally recognizing gay and lesbian couples and their children is a victory for basic fairness." David goes on to write: "And to my deep regret, much of the opposition to gay marriage seems to stem, at least in part, from an underlying anti-gay animus."

David is missing some punctuation but those two sentences are hard to argue with.
