Pastors: The Unsung Heroes of Western Civilization
Dear Pastors and Full Time Ministers:
The Florida Family Policy Council realizes the critical role that pastors play in stabilizing families and the society itself. You have the enormous privilege and responsibility to teach and disciple many of the citizens living within and shaping our culture. There was a time in our country when pastors and the clergy were highly esteemed and viewed as one of the major professionals. Today pastors are not given the “double honor” they are due but are often marginalized, maligned, and mocked by the media and pop culture. This is simply wrong and must be addressed head on in the public square. The Florida Family Policy Council simply can not even begin to scratch the surface of accomplishing it’s mission to “strengthening Florida’s families” without the irreplaceable role of pastors and the local church. A family is only as strong as its marriage; a church is only as strong as its families; and a society is only as strong as its churches.
It would be our heart to do everything possible to come along side the local church, under its authority, to encourage, equip and serve pastors and Christian leaders as they seek to disciple develop a thoroughly Christian world view in their followers. To this end we have created this “Pastors Resource Center” to serve and assist Christian leaders and their families. The site is divided into two sections,
1) Personal Ministry to Pastors and
2) Resources for Cultural Impact.
These are both large collections of pastoral care resources, sermon notes, links to denominations resources, books, tapes, articles and links to many, many sites designed to assist you in your calling to equip the church for the work of service.
Gentlemen, we salute you, we honor you, and we support you. We are praying for you, your marriage, and for your family. Please let us know how we can serve you.
Respectfully, John Stemberger, President, Florida Family Policy Council
